Our approach has always been down-to-earth, like the plant-based ingredients we use, partially owing to our Southern California lifestyle but more importantly to our practice of Bhakti Yoga. We were individually trained in the *sattvic culinary discipline, also known as a yoga diet, in ashrams throughout different parts of the globe for over a decade before we met, married and combined our talents and experience in 1998. Since then, we have been hand crafting our own unique cuisine—catering events, leading university lunch programs, delivering custom dinners, working as personal chefs, and teaching cooking classes—all as acts of love and service. Thus we think the name THE GOURMET ASHRAM perfectly captures the essence of our enterprise, a conscious epicurean venture that is not just a business for us; it is our way of life.
